Maserumule was admitted as an attorney on 27 February 1990 and has spent over 26 years in private practice. He previously worked for Webber Wentzel and Cheadle Thompson Haysom before co-establishing Tshabalala Maserumule Attorneys in 1992, Maserumule Incorporated in 1998 and Maserumule Attorneys in 2015.
Maserumule specializes in all aspects of labour and employment law, and general litigation. He has acted as a Labour Court judge periodically since 1997 and as a High Court judge in 1999, with a number of his judgments reported in the labour law journals. In his capacity as an acting Judge of the Labour Court, he has been involved in interpreting labour legislation and building the new labour jurisprudence.
He is also a member of the legal team that drafted amendments to the Labour Relations Act and Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
He is also an accredited Tokiso mediator, facilitator and arbitrator. He has, since 2001, co-presented the prestigious Juta’s Annual Labour Law Update with John Grogan.
He presented the labour line programme on Talk Radio 702 for two years, dispensing free advice to radio listeners who have labour law related problems.
